Vicki and John Parfitt – UK Based Support

Vicki, 33, and John Parfitt, 34, are the UK-based Expedition Support Team. Their primary role is to liaise with our sponsors as well as being the UK point of contact for the duration of the expedition.

Vicki has been an outdoor enthusiast from an early age and she has combined this interest with her teaching career both in the UK and abroad. She particularly enjoys providing outdoor challenges for young children. Whilst travelling and teaching in Thailand Vicki managed to complete her MA in Education (in between diving expeditions!). She has mountain biked, run, trekked and climbed in the Alps, New Zealand, Spanish Sierra Nevada, Canadian Rockies and Thailand. Vicki was one of the original members of EVERESTMAX but sadly a knee injury has prevented her completing the journey. The team are delighted that she will still play a very active role in the expedition.

A trekker and climber for 20 years, John has organized and participated in numerous overseas expeditions, including trips to Austria, France and Yosemite National Park (USA). Privately funded trips have seen him trekking in Scotland, Australia, Canada and Morocco. As an RAF Officer, he has managed projects in overseas locations and has wide experience of communication information systems.
