Phil Sanderson – Climber
Phil,39, left the world of engineering in Edinburgh to play full time in the outdoors. He has spent the last 12 years gaining the top British qualifications on the mountains and is now an MIC. During that time he went out to Nepal and led the first mountaineering schools for westerners in the Everest region, using Island Peak and Lobuje as the student goals. He has also summitted Ama Dablam and Mera Peak and been mountaineering in India, Kenya, Canada and the Alps.
Rock climbing is his other big passion and has spent much of his time travelling to different venues such as Yosemite,Thailand and more recently on a 6 month trip climbing around Europe. He now works as an instructor at Glenmore Lodge, Scotland's National Outdoor Training Centre.
